Moving to a Circular Economy in China : TRANSFORMING INDUSTRIAL PARKS INTO ECO-INDUSTRIAL PARKS

Professor John Mathews, Hao Tan and Mei-Chih Hu, have just had a paper on the Circular Economy (CE) in China published in California Management Review. This article highlights China’s distinctive strategy of turning existing industrial parks into eco-industrial parks and provides three case studies on closed-loop eco-industrial transformation, CE production system transformation and eco-city scaled integration transformation, respectively. The article also brings out the management issues involved as overcoming reverse salients and capturing network advantages.
